The Minties have been all hands on deck this week with the announcement of the incredible Vivid Sydney 2019 line-up, saving the planet one Goby the fish at a time and gearing up for the upcoming opening of The Fantauzzo in Brisbane.

The 2019 Vivid Line-Up Has Been Announced

Vivid Sydney is back for another year with a packed program of lights, music and ideas that for 23 days takes over venues and precincts across the city. The line-up is full of genre-pushing musicians, thinkers and artists who will bring their talents to the city from May 24 to June 15.

A few highlights include a partnership with Pixar Animation Studios for a projection onto the historic Argyle Cut, Rüfüs Du Sol playing at the Carriageworks and Vivid Ideas with Hollywood trailblazer Spike Lee.

Goby the Fish

W Bali – Seminyak are cleaning up Bali beaches with the instalment of Goby the fish; a larger than life fish designed to reduce the amount of plastic on the island. Following the ban on single use plastic in Bali late last year, this is another amazing effort by the island to eliminate pollution in the waters.

The Fantauzzo

Brisbane’s newest hotel will officially open its doors next Tuesday.

The $100 million Fantauzzo Art Series Hotel, carved into the cliff under the Story Bridge, will feature 166 guest rooms, with custom contemporary furnishings and original artworks and giclee prints.

Inspired by acclaimed Australian painter Vincent Fantauzzo, the six-storey hotel in the Howard Smith Wharves precinct will also offer four distinct food and beverage outlets as well as a rooftop pool, bar, gym and three conference rooms, fully equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology.

The Byron at Byron has announced a new Executive Chef of The Restaurant, Minh Le. The new appointments see the launch of a new dining menu, curated wine menu and cocktail direction.

The menu will draw upon Minh’s Vietnamese heritage, infused with the contemporary cuisine The Byron at Byron is renowned for. Each dish will celebrate local produce like the Bangalow Pork belly with native berries, lilly pilly, smoked yogurt, olives and spiced honey.
