The MINT News Review #11

It’s all about location, location, location here at Mint this week. We can’t decide between unwinding at Nimbo Fork, experiencing the brand spankin’ new Fantauzzo in Brisbane, or revelling in the awesome Sakura Season in Tokyo.

The Fantauzzo Opens its Doors

This week, Art Series Hotels welcomed the first guests to their eighth art inspired hotel, The Fantauzzo in Brisbane. The luxury hotel on the Howard Smith Wharves is inspired by acclaimed Australian painter Vincent Fantauzzo. 500 of his giclée prints and photo realist portraits line the walls of the hotel.

Luna Park opens Volare

Volare is the name of the newest ride to open at Luna Park – the first addition to the park in five years. In the park’s iconic vintage style, the ride literally lights up with character in thousands of LED lights at night.  Volare is now Australia’s largest ‘wave swinger’ ride, where thrill-seekers reach speeds of 65kms an hour all while enjoying views of our beautiful harbour – if they’re quick enough to catch a glance.

The Peninsula Loves Sakura

Each spring in Japan, the arrival of Sakura is celebrated like no other natural phenomenon in the country. The short-lived beauty of the Sakura flower captures the nation’s heart and spirit as early as February, when weather forecasters begin reporting on the northward progress of the blossom front.

To celebrate Japan’s blossom bursting season, The Peninsula Tokyo will be adding a number of themed offerings to their five-star service from 23 March to 6 April. These include a magnificent themed décor, a Sakura Cocktail Bar, complimentary use of the hotel’s pink customised MINI Cooper S Clubman, and Sakura themed spa treatments.
