The MINT News Review #18

It’s been an eventful week at Mint, with the launch of IWC’s new Pilot’s watches, General Chao’s new winter menu, and the reveal of exciting collaboration between lululemon and Barry’s Bootcamp. We’ve also got plenty to look forward to with The Toxteth’s True Crime Trivia around the corner!

lululemon X  Barry’s Bootcamp

lululemon have teamed up with Barry’s Bootcamp to launch a limited edition capsule collection. The collection, called ‘Stronger as One’ is an ethos both brands live by, through a combined love of sweating and building community. Over a year in the making, the 28 piece collection  is the result of close collaboration between the lululemon design team and Barry’s best instructors to design a versatile assortment of pieces for men and women that perform in and out of the Red Room (Barry’s high intensity training studio). It will be available from 22nd July in selected lululemon stores, lululemon.com.au, and in all Barry’s studios.

IWC Schaffhausen Launches New Pilot’s Watches

IWC Schaffhausen celebrated the launch of its new Pilot’s Watches with a bespoke dining experience curated by Neil Perry and the Rockpool Group at the KittyHawk, in Sydney on Tuesday night. Around 40 guests had the opportunity to discover the collection and revel at the Silver Spitfire campaign, due to commence its journey around the world for the Longest Flight in August. Among them were the brand’s ambassadors Hayden Cox and wife Danielle Cox, Monika Radulovic, Alesandro Ljubicic, friends of the brand Tom Derickx, Neil Perry, Matthew Abood and David Caon, members of the press and aviation enthusiasts

True Crime Trivia at the Toxteth

True true-crime buffs will be clearing their schedules on August 26th to attend The Toxteth’s True Crime Trivia Night, hosted by All Aussie Mystery Hour’s Melissa Mason and Josephine Rozenberg-Clarke. Perfect for all the podcast, crime loving enthusiasts out there, the event is set to be a huge night, with prizes for the best true crime knowledge on show, and delicious food from the Toxteth’s revamped menu – think pub classics like the chicken schnitzel and new menu items like hot bowls and vitality salads.

General Chao’s New Winter Menu

General Chao has announced plans to expand its footprint in District Dining as they unveiled a series of new show-stopping dishes this week. Fret not, your firm favourites – the prawn toast, jasmine tea smoked duck dumplings and the General’s fried chicken – aren’t going anywhere, but Executive chef Son Sewoo wanted to push the boundaries of Asian flavours with modern Australian cuisine. We are drooling over the new winter menu which includes an Italian inspired prawn ravioli served in a punchy laksa sauce, a Western style short rib with traditional Indonesian rendang, sweet and sour pork nuggets, and a host of new cocktails to toast with, including the Lady Lister, that beautifully combines Assam tea infused tequila, orange marmalade, egg white and smoked hickory salt.
