Following the devastation of cyclone Debbie, MINT was brought on to manage the PR and Social Media for the re-launch of Daydream Island into a new four-star resort. Creating an 18-month strategy for migrating loyal past visitors with new audiences, MINT managed integrated communications during the rebuild, including outdoor billboards featuring user generated content in the ‘My Daydream Memories’ campaign, as well as a design competition for new sculptures to replace the much loved Daydream mermaids of the past. When a baby shovel-nosed ray was born in the island’s ‘Living Reef’, we engaged local schools to judge user-submitted names through Facebook resulting in social media engagement rates that drove further publicity. Culminating with a nationally reported launch event on the island for 150 guests, hosted by Lincoln Lewis and Phoebe Burgess with a performance by Ricky Lee, we were awarded Integrated Campaign of the Year at the 2019 PRIA NSW Golden Target Awards.
